Raymon Weil and Double cuff..seriously? 80s called, they want their goods back.

It's all Marc Jacobs now, and single cuffs..checkout Matthew McCaunaughey on the cover of the latest GQ mag

A risible 19%. I find that insulting. My antique pocket watch is probably worth more than the quiz author makes in a week (not to mention my Raymond Weil and Tissot back-ups). I wear shirts with double cuffs and proper cufflinks (not to mention mother-of-pearl collar thingies).

OK, I hate horses. That probably lost me a few points.

I have none of that but still scored 35%. Which is wrong because you are surely way posher than me. (But not nearly as posh as that Oakvillian chap...)

So "Posh = Stupid" then....buying a 4 grand watch that does the same job as the $20 one?

Spend a lot of time looking at men in glossy mags, do you?

I very rarely buy watches. They have been gifts from girlfriends/wives. Good watches last a long time.

The pocket watch was an exception. I had a longing for one and I had a very clear idea of what I wanted. One came along and I bought it (and not for four grand!).

Marc Jacobs? Arriviste!

You are mistaking fashion for style. Easy mistake. A gentleman wears French cuffs in the city, but will probably be wearing a Tattersall check shirt with button cuffs under his sportsjacket when dressed down. For really grubby jobs, maybe an old rugby or polo jersey...

Proper posh people don't read magazines, except possibly a subscription to Country Life and, of course, the Racing Post, to which they will have switched grudginly since Sporting Life stopped being about horses. They certainly won't have looked at Gentlemen's Quarterly since it stopped being quarterly and stopped being about gentlemen.

Matthew McConaughey is not posh. He is American.

:o I do seem to have scored quite a lot of points. But the quiz was dreadfully badly done.

And there's me thinking Burton's was posh.

Is there even a concept of "posh" outside Britain?

That's what I was getting at in my last sentence. Foreigners can't be posh. They can be rich, famous, possibly both, but posh? They probably try to spread their marmalade with the butter knife, for heaven's sake.

Easily done.

I wish I hadn't chucked my Halloween edition of Private Eye. There was a cartoon in it that reduced me to tears of laughter (which is not something that happens often).

Anyone still got a copy of the PE issue? I'd love to get that cartoon.
