How do you fare on the Global Fat Scale?

Be ashamed. I'm better off (in BMI terms) than 92% of my Canadian cohort and I think it was 78% worldwide (including Cambodia and Somalia etc).

Better than 73% of the new countrymen but there again we've never been to a Timmys so we have an unfair advantage.

It says I fit the Central African Republic which surprises me because I've just started a no-eating, resume smoking, campaign in order to fit back into my suit. I hope to lose a stone over the coming month.

I am presently of Mauritius proportions....and should be heading towards Turkmenistan! I really don't eat more in Canada, as I find the 'crap' that I would occasionally indulge in in France, either doesnt exist here or tastes dreadful. I just don't exercise here. I take the car for all sorts of things that I'd usually do on foot, or my bike. This WILL change pronto

It was certainly worth stoking up the old desktop and doing the BBC test! My BMI went down to 29 putting me fatter than 63% of Canadians, which means somewhere out there are 37% as bad as me or worse. It said I'm closest to being like the average American. If not for legions of spandex-clad health nuts whizzing around on their bikes (scads of them here!) screwing up the statistics this sort of thing would be a lot less demeaning. I'm only about 15 minutes or less drive from the US border, but I'd rather go to Tonga or Micronesia where I'll fit in better.

Apparently, I should be residing in Myanmar (Burma).
73% lower than others in this fair Country, for my age..
Only another 20lb to go then!

BMI is irrelevant as it doesn't take into account your body fat percentage..it is just your height divided by your weight..a professional athlete could be classed as being obese simply because muscle weighs a lot more than fat

You can't write it off as irrelevant simply because it does not apply to all cases. Your example is correct, and there are even issues with applying BMI across different ethnic groups or children, but by and large it is a useful comparator. Far more useful than locating oneself within an international ranking based on BMI for a start!
