Hotels in Fredericton
#1
Hello! We are planning a trip to Fredericton this Autumn (although might postpone it till late Spring depending on husband's work commitments). We would be very grateful for any suggestions of a suitable hotel or B&B - we just need basics as we'll be very busy researching and meeting with various people and only spending a few hours at night in there. At the same time, we wouldn't want to end up in a scary place with cockroaches...
Location is not important as we'll be renting a car. Many thanks!

We spent a while here http://www.carriagehouse-inn.net/index.html
It's a beautiful Inn, and Steve and Kathy can give great info about the area. I actually randomly got offered the job that got us a work permit at their breakfast table. Steve's Carriage House Eggs are fantastic

We stayed at the Amsterdam Inn on Bishop's Drive when we visited in 2007.

It was, in our experience, good value, new, clean and fine as a base if you have a car to pop down into town and do all your exploration from. The rooms are a good size and the staff were very nice. There are better hotels with more facilities, such as the Delta on Woodstock road close to downtown, but they will be far more expensive.
I'm quite picky but I found it fine for our purposes. We now live in Fredericton and love it here.
Good luck!
Ben

we've stayed here a couple of time and actually ended up renting their room with the kitchenette for a month when we first arrived

the owners are lovely people and cook the best breakfasts. It's also a great location and you can walk downtown if you don't feel like driving/ want a drink

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza over Christmas last year .... fantastic hotel, great staff (although perhaps a little over budget/specification for what you're looking for?)...worth asking what their rates would be though... and with a swimming pool & fitness centre too!

Thank you so much for great suggestions! I've already e-mailed one of the places and received a reply, will be getting in touch with the other two as well. It makes a great difference to know that someone's stayed and enjoyed the place! Thank you!!
