The other thing of note in that story is that half the population has a bet on the race. The only time there's such a level of interest in a single event sporting or social event here is when the World Cup's on, otherwise the people have so little in common that there's nothing to chat about.

More horrors from the Telegraph: http://fashion.telegraph.co.uk/galle...t-to-wear.html
May possibly be the same horrors, I couldn't face wading through them all.

Yep - the rest of us mere mortals have a duty to try harder, and not let our tits hang out in public or our chubby thighs chafe in glare of the world's media.

I quite admire those women who can wear what they want without thinking "do my bum/tum/thighs/tits/arms look big in this?". if they look in the mirror and think they look good then they enjoy themselves a damn sight more than the rest of us who cover up and daren't eat in public in case a scrawny mare is looking down on us

Oh, perhaps I misunderstood. I thought people were judging them for looking like they got dressed in Elton John's cast offs, not for their size or shape. Commenting on anyones figure is pretty uncouth, however it seems to be more socially acceptable to pick on thinner people.

You know the mail is likely to be 'barrel scraping', but there are some horrors there.
Some places in the UK are known for their horrific scantily clad ladies. However, it looks like fun in a chavvy sort of way.

I don't really care about people's size or shape. But good tailoring helps out
That's all I'm saying.

Well, really.
If you don't like being a fatty (not you personally, I'm sure you're perfectly svelte), or a skinny, do something about it. Either be comfortable in your own skin and cope with however you're perceived, or change your eating and exercise habits.

I must say it appears that you are all very unforgiving lot. Had they all looked like supermodels I suspect that there would have been lots of comments about airbrushing and unreasonable expectations. As it is, they probably look very similar to most of those that post on here and you are still not happy
