HMRC Self Assessments - landlord of a UK Property

HMRC Self Assessments - landlord of a UK Property
Hellos,
I hope someone has experience of this who can help me.
I have been renting out my flat since May 2010. I came to Canada to be with my husband and to wait for my PR to come through.
I had contacted HMRC before leaving UK, to let them know that I will be a Non-resident Landlord of a UK property and they told me to fill in a form for April 2011.
So, here I am with my new activation code.... logged in to start filling in my details.... then I noticed something! Only UK residence can fill in the form online? Is that right?
It looks like it can be done via software?
Has anyone used any of the software, any recommendations?
Is it just easier to fill in the self-assessment on paper?
