hello all
we are wondering if there is anyone who is good in writing poems,i will try and explain the reason for this.
when we came over to nova scotia in 2008 we rented a house, we paid up in full for 6 months but because we were very un happy with the house etc, we left early leaving him we our full rent, we later found out that he had re rented the house(sub let) and so received money twice for the same period,
so to cut a long story short, after many visits to the tenency board and the small claims court and then the surpreme courts we won, and he had to pay us the full money plus interest etc, so we have just received the money for the courts.
what we want to do, is send him a sarcastic poem in a big card with a smiley face on it
. basically explaining that this could have been settled many months ago with us saying we would except a lower figure to end it all,but no he wanted to take us to court , but his attitude to us and the whole thing makes us want to have the last say.

Since you were awarded the money, simply take a photo of yourself holding the cash in one hand, and in the other a large thumbs up.
Either that or print out Oinks poem and run with it.

Our stay in New Minas was frightful
And the money we won was quite rightful
But when all's said & done
Our lives aren't much fun
So we're sending this just to be spiteful...
Our actions are verging on crime
It's harassment to send him this rhyme.
When all others cry
let sleeping dogs lie
We poke at them just one more time.
The card has been sent but we're worried
That our immature actions were hurried,
He thinks it no trifle
As he loads up his rifle.
We're terrified now so we've scurried.
Through the streets of New Minas he hunts
Still angered by our childish stunts.
You can see how this ends
We've run out of friends
And the locals all think we're childish...
And the money we won was quite rightful
But when all's said & done
Our lives aren't much fun
So we're sending this just to be spiteful...

Why would you spend time pulling together a poem? It just seems like an issue waiting to happen.

I would love to know how the court action went. We broke a lease and decided to pay up as a result of our breach. We then learned the landlords mitigated their loss and may have received double payment. We then asked them for the portion of the double payment back. Did you offer to refund the new tenants your windfall?

Nah, Supreme Court is a name given to the local court as in Supreme Court of Nova Scotia or where ever the OP hails from.
Edit: just googled it and it would appear I guessed correctly with NS. I would guess they were both self reps, but having to appeal suggests that one side lost and then decided to appeal. I assume the landlord lost at both.
