Well hello all - It feels like i've been away for ages (c'mon, at least one of u musta noticed?? ) but then again moving to a new country and all the jazz that goes with it will keep you a lil busy LOL...
I just wanted to say hi to everyone and to say that both my hubby and I are sooooooo pleased we made the move here - ok, it's not all been a bed of roses but on the very big plus side the rest has been fab!!
I have been sending emails to anyone back in the UK who has a spare few hours every two weeks (hehe) with news from here and having read back on it I was just amazed at the journey we've already been on - hard work but worth it.
We've encountered the first black ice slide (twice in the same damn day - scary or what??), first Christmas (at Lake Louise in a mountain hideaway...awesome), first huuuuuuge snow fall, first argument with Telus (i'm not the first LOL), first Canadian mortgage, banking etc, first truck (yay!), our first local then international visitors, first actual house (as opposed to flat), first vehicle auction (how much fun???)... so many other firsts!!
And of course, throw in the exploring, a few live hockey games - GO FLAMES!!(and several more on TV which is a blessed miracle!), not giving a stuff about looking like a walking woollens section with not much make-up, finding a decent hairdresser (yes, we did), trying out the casino, making friends, trying craft-making, finding squash courts, getting drunk (shame on us, yes, we do that too LOL), applying for and getting a job (me, hubby already had one), and you have one great four months so far...
Ok, downside - I'm scared witless of one of the roads here and I am pig sick of having to try and get our insurance company to believe we don't own two damn properties and of course we do miss our family and friends but all in proportion - it's not horrendous. I guess we are lucky that we have friends here, we speak to our friends and family at home a lot and one of my brothers has already visited and the other is on his way so it really helps...
I just wanted everyone to know that it can work - ok, we're only four months in but we're being positive and looking forward to each new thing and I hope everyone who is on their way out or has just come over has a majority positive experience and that they will be please with their efforts and happy to be living their dream
Ki xx

HI Ki76
Thanks for your reply, such a lot to do at the moment but we are really looking forward to our new adventure, we are trying to line up house rentals viewings at the moment, not having much luck - nobody is replying to our emails! Luckily we have a friend in Med Hat and he is going to help us
