Quite. The shit present thing can be a game though. We're all doing two gifts this year. One will be the proper gift. We drew names from a hat last Christmas, so I know who I am buying for etc. The other will be recycled pressies. These will be handed over in the same way but people will have the option of trading/stealing before they have been opened. Our offering will be some artisanal table linen I was given as a corporate gift during a business trip to Brazil in January. It is truly wank.
That reminds me. About five years ago, my BIL gave both of his sisters sex toys. Those presents were opened in front of the entire family.

not the Brazilian table linen either!

i struggle with this too though. if you have something of genuine quality that is just not to your taste, which is what this may be, and you decide to pass it on fair enough. but when people waste $10-$15 on tat that either falls apart (like mine did last year) or never gets used, i would rather they just gave it to charity personally.

I love your letters MMC. I would love to give it a go, but then I looked at your website, you're a great artist, and dont think mine could ever look like yours ! My kids might like to join me in making some though, then I can blame it on them if they're rubbish ! lol

Here's something I made last week .... with the kids at my daughter's school - and yes, I am showing off but the Italians loved it and it was easy peasy.

Apart from those Yule Logs I also made 25 gingerbread men so that each kid in class had one to decorate and the spare ones went to the teachers to taste.
They have asked me if I want to go back and do it again next year. Serves me right for being a bloody goody goody two shoes
