Well, that's pretty much it for the ordinary, young, ill and old.

At least the exchange rate might improve - so every cloud has a silver lining

I honestly feel sick to my stomach. What a great shame.

The 19th old Etonian as Prime Minister. We Brits love posh people to rule us.

The exchange rate has had two significant events in the last couple of days. The Conservatives getting power (all be it water down by the Lib Dem's) and Britain's refusal to get involved in the EU Bail Out.

We just need the Bank of England to grow some balls and start dealing with the 3.4% inflation by raising interest rates and things will start to go dandy again- for those needing to swap pounds for canadian dollars anyway.

In my honest opinion being Prime Minister doesn't pay well enough to attract the quality of leader Britain need's. That's why we end up having to vote for those born with a silver spoon in their mouth as they don't need the money.

I respectfully disagree, but that argument is absolute bollox. Its about power. The Tories are dominated and controlled by a crypto-aristocratic cadre, they want the power so they can protect their prevailed class. They then have to audacity to suggest the UK is not a class divided country? I don't think you'll find many of Vicky Pollard's ilk leading the Tory party?

Please to be naming a political party that Ms Pollards ilk would be leading then?

True.

But not a party who are actually capable of winning a seat in the House of Commons.

I was simply using her as an example. How many working class, non-Oxbridge educated people have led the Tory party?

There was that John Major, he ran away from the circus to join a bank, that's pretty working-class aspirational.
