Aaahhh.. an appreciation from one whose no doubt had his teeth broken and palette lacerated by an authentic french baquette.
It might not be as crusty but it does provide an acceptable sandwich covering for bacon or pork sausage and at 95c a loaf then it's got a lot going for it.

It's not always that cheap though.

It's not had a mention yet but Walmart - the super centre ones, not the old stores - actually does some fabulous freshly baked bread and often for 99c too.

Oh I forgot about Wal-Mart, I do agree some of their in store baked break isn't bad.

We have a bread bakery not far from where we live, always smell so good when walking past it, so I bought a loaf one day, ($5 so a bit pricey) oh it was not good. How it gets such good reviews I will never understand, but suppose that's how taste works, what tastes good to one, tastes poorly to another.

It's the staff of life, laddy. If your wife is trying to make you eat the lawn clippings from under the mower, it means she might be having an affair with the gardener. #AlwaystheLasttoKnow

If you have a vindaloo (and I concede you may never have any sort of curry) how, without naan, do you move it to your mouth?

What if you fancy a shwrma/kebab? Without the pita it will be a pile of spicy stuff with turnip strips. Do you ask for a fork, or chopsticks, or stick your fingers in it, or what?

Suppose you are at one of those restaurants with a shared bowl of food and a belly dancer undulating over it. You have no tools. Do you go home hungry because bread is not cool enough to go your gob?

Breadless life is, as you may have discerned, an affectation new to me. On what substance do you smear your Marmite?

I've had something packed like this before - like half a loaf only in the bag - and it was a bit dry.

But this one is really good, even toasted.

Seconding that. I learned a while ago that it's actually Australia's Baker's Delight. They found that they could move their franchise operation over here relatively easier, recipes included.
