oh come on now ! I wouldnt say that too loudly if I were you ... especially on a night like tonight. It must be insane by the Bell Center tonight. Do you think the kids willl start rioting again? or do they reserve that for when we bring home the cup??
the honking just wont let up ...

yeah, the kids rioted downtown last night , set 5 police cars on fire , broke store windows and then looted them.. thats the ugly image that the rest of Canada sees of Montreal . I am surprised not more police presence was planned for a possible victory. Every time the Habs win a major game, it is usually followed by rioting. The cops came out in their riot gear , according to The Gazette, with big smiles on their faces
Question for you.
We've been watching the games on franco TV. I keep hearing the commentator make references to what sounds like "les canettes". Any idea what that is? Souvette doesn't know.
Thanks; it's bugging me. My only though to now is that the commentator has invented his own nickname for the Habs.
<confesses, to his shame, that he fell asleep towards the end of the first>

Yeah Habs! Just wait until they make it to the 2nd round (hmmm?). Maybe we'll have a repeat if the 1993 win? I have me eye an a nice 36" plasma TV on display . . .

Getting back to the hockey ...
The Canadiens were awesome last night, and Price was simply outstanding. The Bruins hammered on his goal like nobody's business, and he made stupendous saves. I'd be amazed not to see him starting in goal for Canada in 2010.
And I say this as Bruins fan. We took the series to 7, and it's no disgrace that we got eliminated now.
*still holding out hopes for all-Canadian finals*

You are right about that. They sure had us in a sweat. Going into the game , no one knew what was going to happen. I guess we just wanted it more , and you are right about Price... he had an outstanding night . The bruins should be proud of themselves . They didnt just keel over and die ..
The commentators were saying how quiet they found the fans in the arena before the game started... so nervous.
Hockey is what unites this city. There really is no greater fan than a Canadien fan... seriously.
Too bad that the kids went and spoilt it by rioting though
ok, asked around and we think that what you heard was cardiac Canadiens. a commentator said this a few games back when we lost 2 straight. Apparently because they were giving their die hard fans a Crise Cardiac ( heart attack) for going into an unplanned game 7.

Thanks for trying. My French isn't great but it's not that bad that I would mis-hear to that extent. I'll wait until the next game and instruct Souvette to pay close attantion to what's being said.
I'm wondering if it's an obscure reference to the two brothers.
