Default Globespan

Where did Globespan go? I was waiting to book form Glasgow to Halifax but it seems it is not going to happen, had to book from Gatwick which is a bugger but I just wanted to get seats for the seven of us.

Any one got any info?

Cheers

I hope that your travel dates are flexible. Globespan are not the most reliable outfit in the world. Many flights are delayed. I would never, ever use them again. I'm sure others will relate their experiences.

You get what you pay for and the airline industry is no different.

I had to book with Air Transat from Gatwick so will have to then fly down to Gatwick. So now no flights out from Glasgow!

Do they not just reduce the amount of destinations in the winter?

P.S. I would not fly Globespan ever again - but I have spoken to someone recently who said they had the best flight ever with themMakes me wonder how bad their previous flights have been though

Count me in, i would never fly with them ever again
I flew with them a couple of years ago and wow the delays, infact the hotel they put us in was...erm not that brilliant.
I have heard of others that they have had good flights, but i am afraid that after our experience, never again

Infrequent flyers on European Charter Airlines won't know any different so will see the slightly larger aircraft as a novelty.

Saying that, we just flew to the Maldives with a scheduled Sri Lankan Airlines and it will certainly be the last time

Hmm thank you for that, so can we assume Air Transat may be a marginally better move then? I do hope so.

I've never flown with them (through choice) but over the past month we had my father-in-law and my brother-in-law visit on separate occasions. FIL says it's not as good as AC or BA but he's happy with it. BIL says he'll never fly with them again.

It all depends on what you're used to i guess.

Oh well better we got something booked. Hoping not to have to do this for much longer. Any ideas on a better route to NS?

That's certainly not what did it for me - I've travelled on a number of scheduled airlines to long-haul destinations, and the Globespan plane didn't seem particularly big!

Despite that, the best flight Corissa and I have had between England and Canada was with Globespan. Between us we've flown pretty much all of the airlines between London and Calgary - BA, Air Canada, Thomas Cook, Air Transat, Globespan and Northwest Airlines via Minneapolis/St Paul. Thomas Cook have been by far the worst and Globespan were the best.

What made it such a good flight was the comfort. We had upgraded to their business class, because it was still cheaper than economy on the scheduled airlines and gave us the extra luggage allowance. Unsurprisingly, it wasn't up to the standard of business class with Air Canada or BA, but it was better than Economy class with either of them. I had so much legroom that my wife could walk past me without me moving and dinner was served in china with metal cutlery. The seats were also comfortable enough that we were able to sleep most of the way, which I rarely do on a flight. The only downside was the entertainment, which was not important to us. We did comment that we were glad not to be in economy class though, as that looked pretty uncomfortable.

We had mentally prepared ourselves for delays after everything we'd read on here but our flight ran to perfect time. That may have been down to luck, or the fact that we were flying in peak season (12 August), so the flight was full.
