There was also a teacher at our school named Gordon Price who got suspended for attacking a pupil shortly after a certain Jilted John song came out.

The North American tipping culture is great for men of a certain age.

In the UK when we ask for a coffee, a sullen 16 year old girl-creature with a bad attitude thumps it down in front of us, and she couldn't care less if we want cream or sugar with it. In fact she couldn't care less if we had a heart attack and died right in front of her very eyes.

But in North America, where the prospect of as much as an entire dollar is at stake, she's transformed into a pretty, made-up, purring little tease who makes us feel like we're packing weapons and large mustaches, and given half a chance she'd ride off into the sunset with us.

Well worth the extra buck, I'd say.

Not even close. I just figured a classic 70's cop would be amusing.
