I asked for information on how to view this TV channel, and you sent a horrible racist reply. Gammon is a type of meat and not a fit description of a white person. It’s derogatory and racist as are lots of names for POC. Such language has no place in private or public discourse
I prefer to watch a wide variety of mainstream news, and social media news on *all sides* of the political spectrum. This way one’s views are broadened and not narrowed into an echo chamber. Perhaps you could try it. It help you be more respectful in your language. You certainly have a long way to go.

You have to give the left credit for coming up with 'Gammon', I think it's absolutely hilarious. No difference whatsoever than the right calling the left 'snowflakes' etc.

Calling it a channel for gammon seemed generous to me. Isn't that the target market?
There's a gulf between taking on all sides of the spectrum, with say the Telegraph on the right and the Guardian on the left and embracing the weirdos, GB News, Fox, Health Freedom News, the Morning Star, the Daily Mail, Newsmax World Weekly News, National Enquirer, Breitbart. Consuming sensationalist tripe published at the very limit of legally acceptable distortion isn't healthy even if you balance it with subscriptions to the Atlantic and the New Yorker

Unfortunately online only now but probably easier to read without everyone at the supermarket checkout knowing your reading habits.

We don't get straight forward unbiased news reporting anymore from the media, we get left or right wing opinions, depending on what we watch/read, and this is the problem. I don't want opinions foisted upon me from media outlets, I just want the unbiased facts that remain in the context that they came from, not "selective reporting" laced with their opinion
So like you say its a case of having to watch/read both left and right wing news sources in order to establish your own opinion on world affairs and events, the main stream media now is a joke.

Over the last few years, I think the western world has gone crazy...the left and the right never seemed to be this way, but now many people get very personal and feel insulted if you have the opposite political view to them, why? this is a new thing, unheard of a few years ago, I can't keep up with the slang terms and names coming from both sides these days....its descended into a comedy show.

Be in no doubt that the independence of the BBC is slowly but surely being reeled in by the Tories. They won't be happy until it has red, white and blue livery and learns to do as it's told.
The fact that so many right-wingers think the BBC is leftie shows how utterly biased most of the other media is. It's the singular most highly-regarded news outlet in the whole world, yet half the UK population thinks it's Marxist.

Reminds me of an experience a few years ago, at Heathrow, at W H Smiths where the pin striped fellow in front of me was buying The Times and the Sun. He said the Sun was to figure out what the mouth breathers were interested in.

Well yes the BBC serves as one half of my news source, I need to sought the other half though before I can form a balanced opinion. I am astounded you think its an unbiased news source....there is no such thing these days.

Almost agree. I find PBS close to being balanced most of the time.
