It's a boy, a tri-colour Border Collie. Sounds fancy but he's the smallest of the litter (not a runt, though, just runt-ish), is pretty ugly but offsets that with "kind" looking eyes. I have a secret plan to come up with a funny name or pronounceable acronym that I can attempt to [innocently] convince the girls to choose as his name. A name that, if you heard it, you'd have a laugh but the locals wouldn't blink an eye at ;) Examples: Frak Growler NED Chav Boner Suggestions welcome (what's the worst we could get away with?) Fork Regina Duckhunt |

I don't know about what name you could get away with, but human names are usually a good bet for turning heads. Richard would be a cool name for him...

Re: Funny names for pets in Canada
We recently got a puppy. A girl
Me and OH pulled out all these names: Penny- so we could shout in a nerd like fashion, Penny , Penny , Penny Vera- so we could sing Vera, vera what has become of you? Ruby, for Ruby Murray, curry Minnie - the poocher We thought these were all hilarious and laughed at how funny we were. The kids didn't agree and after a complex name choosing effort we settled on the name the breeders had given her, Ziva. PS I like flower the best suggestion, but not so much suited to a boy dog. Can he not be a trannie? |

Re: Funny names for pets in Canada
Thanks for the input everyone :)
I've made some suggestions to the "naming committee" and it appears I have a battle on my hands. From the original short list, they like "Taz" and have been listing off all the reasons for this choice. I did get a good reaction from "Teabag" and "Frak". So I thought I'd made a break-through but they're still standing firm :frown: I want to also suggest "Gunt" (as in: "You can go rest your gunt on the table over there, Mrs Miggins"). But I'm too scared. "Clunge" is cute (glad I looked that one up before I said it out aloud). "Rod" does have a euphemisitc quality to it. Not sure if the dog will be a tranny - he's probably going to have his nuts removed at six months. I suppose if he grows breasts he could be called "Moobs". Pikey & Gypo... if anything else that belongs in the garden gets moved in here, that's what I'm calling them :sneaky: Did someone say "Dick Cheese"? Thanks for all the others, and there's still time for more :) |
