The consensus seems to be old age, but what about the young people on here, have you made new friends? Local or expat?
Oh God is 40 old age? I have been under the misguided notion that at 40, I am still a whipper snapper (if a slightly intolerant one)

There are some folk back in the UK that I would class as friends. One I have known for 45 years. We don't see each other often but when we do get together we just pick up where we left off. The gap of a few years doesn't seem to make any difference. Since I left college, I've moved around a fair bit. I've made lots of acquaintances, mostly in the pub, and they've all fallen by the wayside when I've moved.

We've been in Gatineau for six years now. I don't go to pubs. I have no friends or acquaintances of my own. We do socialise a bit with some of Souvette's work buddies.

Where's the violin smiley when you need it? You should find some need to come to Newfoundland for research purposes & I'll take you to a pub and buy you a beer. Purely as an acquaintance mind.

While I don't like to think that I am old, I have come to the conclusion that I am very definately middle aged...

And at 41 I am struggling to make friends (heck, I am struggling to find enough volunteers to help me do my practicals for the Massage Therapy course I am doing! And I only need 8 each month! You wouldn't think it would be so hard to find people willing to have a free massage (and no, it is not "that" sort of massage... Shame on you for thinking that! )

So, if there are any peeps in Calgary who would be willing to let a relatively novice Massage Therapist (only been doing it 2 months so I can only do back, shoulders, upper chest and arms at present) practice on them for free - get in touch!

I'll be there in a few month's time. Can you wait that long? You can practice on me as much as you like
