Sadly, it seems that wealth is inversely proportional to taste in Calgary. With the exception of some of the older neighbourhoods, such as Mount Royal and Scarboro, expensive houses are ghastly. An oil executive built a new infill up the road from me last year. When my sister visited she was surprised to find a factory on a quiet residential street.

It's not just Calgary, ask dollface to send you some pictures of the house she had, the one that was nearly in Oakville. (And yes, I know it cost fourpence ha'penny and sold for 11 gazzillion somethings).

Not only is that a silly idea, on a public form it's a serious security risk.

Eh? If one isn't prepared to stand by one's comments when confronted, maybe one shouldn't post them:p

I'm just worried about al-shabab and their ilk tracking me down for all my forthright views. ;)

I actually rather like that. For a transplanted chateau, it seems to have the right proportions and appropriate bling. It wouldn't suit me, but for a rich Russian or something, I think there can be much worse attempts.
