Don't think it really matters it does give them a guide as where people are watching from though. For anyone who dosn't like the picture size just reduce your resolution to the lowest and hey presto larger screen, for those who already know humbug.

Has anyone here got experience of using a proxy (either free or paid-for) to trick iPlayer, 4OD or Sky Anytime that they are viewing from within UK?

I have used most of these and will be moving to Sydney on Saturday, so am keen to know if it is straightforward to overcome the region-locking on these systems..

Hi dave,
Have used a proxy for BBC iPlayer,4OD other uk services many time, they do work but have on occasions not been able to get a working one.
Just put UK proxy into a search engine you will get many hits, I use samair mainly, only problem will be is that many of them will be Codeen, my experience with these is you can surf no problem but getting to use the above programmes is next to useless. Proxys have a limited lifespan as well as they are blocked pretty quickly so if at first you don't succeed keep trying. Failing that just use TVcatchup as no proxy is required.

It looks like tvcatchup been taken down.
What a shame it was a good site.
I don't know when these tv people will wake up. There are a few people living overseas who like to watch the odd bit of british tv and i am sure would not mined pay a small fee to watch. Win win situation for everyone.

I know have to find a new site to watch the 6 nation. Any ideal.

Try Setanta I get my 6 nations fix via rogers cable Setanta is channel 428

However it isnt live and you have to isolate yourself for a couple of days. England fixtures are the worst effected (some kind of broadcast deal I guess like the sky one they have)

Setanta is a great channel if you like footie, rugby etc. I believe that the IRB have some rule that in North America the live coverage can only be in pubs/clubs. The same goes for the deal for Celtic and Rangers games shown in North America....they are shown live at Celtic or Rangers 'clubs' and then on a 2 day delay on Setanta Sports Canada.

Will you be keeping Setanta.?
