Default Free UK TV Programmes

Have just come across a site that will let you watch UK programmes albeit recorded and it is all FREE. You are able to record them as well at your leisure and it is very easy, the quality is pretty good, selection at the moment is also very good, the more people that use it then the selction of programmes that will be available will increase. At the moment the downside is there is no full screen but that is something they are looking at and hoping to introduce.

Looks pretty handy. As for getting full screen, you may be able to use a trick or two to simulate full-screen. On my Mac I can press Alt+Apple+"+" or "-" to zoom in and out. Then hitting Apple+"F" I activate the status-bar search which hides the pointer (using Camino, and I suspect Firefox too).

I doubt it's something they'll necessarily want to introduce in the future as they've specifically disabled it at the moment.

Thanks!

On another tack, how does one get a sign-in for UKNova?

Is it just a case of waiting for someone to cancel their subscription or do they up their numbers every now and again?

Cheers

Yey, thanks!

Just watched the Christmas special of 'Extras'. Sync between sound and pic a bit out, but still fantastic - thanks so much!

I got signed up today after trying off and on for months. I finally got an account at 12pm Atlantic time (or -4GMT) - may it was pure luck or maybe they released some spaces at 4pm GMT - who knows??? Any account inactive for 42 days will be deleted thereby creating spaces for new subscribers.

A good thing is that you can sign up from anywhere as there is no immediate download required. I did so at work then later I activated my UK Nova account from home using the confirmation email they sent me.

Now, the only problem is how do I find time to catch up on all the programmes I have missed

I'm afraid that the site tv-links.co.uk was closed down by big brother last month and the gentleman concerned was helping the authorities with their enquiries.

Yes this is the thing to consider about all these sites. None of them are actually legal.

Has anyone tried 4OD?

Its easily located from channel 4's website and lets you watch most of the last 30 days' broadcasts for free along with a good archive of comedy and documentary programming, also without cost.

The rest you have to pay for sadly but free peep show/black books isn't to be sniffed at.

If you are desperate then yes, you can use the BBC iPlayer,ITV's site or even 4OD but with each you need a proxy if outside the UK. This site TVcatchup lets you watch or even have it recorded while asleep all without this problem.

Thanks for that. Currently I use XTVI for finding TV programmes, coupled with Azureus for retrieving them.

Thanks for the link. The site looks really good, but when you go to sign up for it it states that you have to reside in th UK and have a current TV licence.

Then when it asks you for which region, one of the options is UK reidents abroad.

I don't get it. Please can someone explain?????

I guess it could be for uk residents on holiday abroad. You would still have a tv licence and be resident in the Uk if you hada villa in spain or something.
