The Four months of not winter - 2020

Re: The Four months of not winter - 2020
It was hazy past couple of days here & that's apparently due to gasses in the atmosphere from the volcano in Iceland that is/has been errupting. More importantly its supposed to be 18C today. That'll be the warmest day of the year so far. We are tantalizingly close to the start of blackfly season!

We seem to have started Summer here this week, with temps hitting 30 + C the last few days. I’m out in me shorty shorts and bikini top….who needs the Med ?
Too hot for gardening, mind, and sleep - suppose I have to get the fan back out of storage.
I am already covered head to toe in itchy red lumps and bumps - it's a good look. The unusual lack of bity things last year lulled me into a false sense of security and I initially neglected the slathering on of insect repellent. Won’t make that mistake again.
Also currently enjoying a nice dust bath drifting from the road (wish the council would get round to oiling the back roads already) and I am eyeing the burgeoning baby pine cones in the tree tops that are almost ready to release their pollen in vast clouds. All good stuff for the lungs and bronchs, which are already suffering after the persistent mold exposure, indoors and outdoors, from thaw season, laaavly.
The hummers are back though. The nightly chorus of Spring Peepers is loud and delightful.
And so it begins….the joys and miseries of Canadian spring/summer. Ho hum.

Last night was chilly. Closed the windows but still got cold and began the day with heating back on just to bring the house temperature back up.
Seriously considering ending the day by putting the AC on for the night.

The weather has been lovely for the last few weeks here. Although we can't keep our Chinook salmon which has put at big damper on recreational things but it's meant I've been a lot more productive professionally.
Lets hope the coho arrive soon as I need and excuse to skive off.

Heat and me do not get along, never has and never will.
My wife on the other hand, probably need to be 50 before she would say its hot.

I'm with you. I was driving with the window down yesterday, sunny day with a light breeze and I was thinking to myself 'this is perfect weather for me'. Just then the weather report came on the radio, it was 18 degrees

My husband is like you…fall is his preferred season, followed by spring.

I love 15-17 degree weather, just a fan on low inside and its quite nice.
At the airport job they would tease me in a nice way about not wearing jacket or hoodie until it got down to like 1-2 most everyone else was bundled up by 8-9. Unless it dips below minus 10, I tend not to wear gloves either, and often wont wear a jacket if driving places because its too hot in the car and stores, and I can survive the 30- second walk from parking lot to the store.
For me climate wise, I prefer consistency, probably why San Diego was a good fit for me, sure there are heat waves but its not months of cold or hot, San Diego is pretty consistently 19-26 degrees on average year round, with some heat waves most typically in late summer into early fall, August-Sept are the 2 warmest months, even October is warmer than June typically due to the Santa Ana winds in the fall.
I am not a big fan of inconsistent temps and do much prefer climates with more consistency temp wise.

We don't get a Spring here. Goes from -10c in February to +10c for a week or two in April to +30c in May and hovers around that temp until September.
And that isn't a complaint
Edited to add that my fingers are crossed we don't have a bad forest fire season after reading this
