A minor point, like anyone cares, the thread will drift into what the masses desire

In the spirit of stickng to 'the rules' I've had to edit my list down to Parmesan. My parents used to have it on spaghetti, ready grated from one of those little cardboard shaker tubs. Couldn't understand why they would eat something that smelled like sick.

I'm not addicted to caffeine as I will have one or maybe at a push two cups that have to be before 12pm. Sometimes I don't have anything apart from water.
I also try and stay hydrated with drinking lots more water when I have a coffee as I know caffeine dehydrates.
I understand people don't like the taste of tea and coffee (many people don't) but I see from your post you have never tried either.
What is your beverage of choice in the morning then?

I wouldn't say I couldn't/can't function without coffee, but I'm definitely happier in the morning after a nice hot bowl of cafe au lait .
P.S. I still can't/won't drink milk, but I love yoghurt. Go figure....

All coffee does for me is ruin my day with the stomach ache is creates, never cared for the taste either.
My morning drink of choice is water, or cold green tea. But water most days now.

I don't think there is anything wrong with a cup of coffee in the morning.

When you work in a building with 400 Germans, Italians and Spaniards, 90% of whom struggle to drive a car safely without a cappucino in the morning and at least one espresso after lunch, it is a bit of an eye opener for a non-coffee drinker. To be fair, Italians, rubbish Italian cars and an autobahn in the morning is a recipe for disaster - coffee probably saves lives.

Of course there is nothing wrong with it; horses for courses. I personally only really drink water during the day but I appreciate that I am in the minority on this. Always disliked the smell when I was young so never wanted to try it.

Today, in the office, we were looking on mls at a house someone just bought when a Chinese chap walked by with a cucumber. "His lunch" boggled an Indian. "They eat them" explained an Italian, sounding dubious about the enterprise.
This led me to think I'd best not bring cucumber sandwiches for fear of being considered odd.

It has been a common saying of physicians in England, that a cucumber should be well sliced, and dressed with pepper and vinegar, and then thrown out, as good for nothing.
