Always wondered what UK bacon looked like. Darn but it looks like a very thin pork chop without the bone. Down here in the deep south of the US, this is a staple for breakfast instead of the bacon eaten by us true northeners

Its french fries but you know them better as chips
OK that sounds good so far
Then you pour gravy over the fries
Im still ok with that
Then you add cheese curds
WTF
This sounds like the perfect dirty post-beer food to me. Looking forward to giving it a whirl. Got to get the inebriated pronunciation right when I order it I guess.

MMMMMMMmmmmmm that's made me hungry. Saturday post run bacon sarnie I reckon, get em all in before I leave. With lashings of unchurned butter, and HP brown sauce :-)

I wondered if it was that the source meat was broadly the same (albeit Streaky rather than back, but the cooking style was different.

I have long held the belief that poutine was invented by a bloke getting home pissed from the pub and creating something from whatever he could find in the fridge/freezer.

i dont know what all the fuss is about...the OP list you can get in most Walmarts in their British section or save on foods who have a united kingdom section..its all stuff you would find in a 'British Shop' shipped from the UK...job done.

All this bacon talk makes me uneasy.

Pemeal bacon is ok, most stuff is getable in Canada. You will find after a while here the craving for U.K. food stuffs will wear off

Even in Britain there is quite a range in egg quality (well, taste) so maybe you just need to try different varieties?

However, it can still be limited. Or costly.
I've only seen Hobnobs with chocolate. I prefer them as nature intended.
Jacobs Club biscuits only seem available in orange. Bourbon and lemon cream biscuits but not custard creams - or have they appeared now?
Topic bar?
Beans but not curried beans. Nor beans with little sausages in apart from the pieces of hot dog type sausage.
Plenty of Pringles but not Paprika flavour.
Decent, non added sugar muesli with a good amount of fruit. Even Alpen brand doesn't do it. The nearest to, say, Sainsburys 50% fruit version @ $3.50 for 750g is Jordans for something like $6 for only 450g. That's like three times the UK price. Makes cheese look like a bargain.

There I go forgetting Amazon again. But I was really thinking in shops here where it looks odd to have beans but not beans plus. Or Mars but not Topic. Orange Club but not Raisin...that sort of thing.

Now Whisky Marmalade...I definitely don't forget Amazon for that.

Ah ....... but you really do have to go to Quebec to get the real thing.

I really wouldn't try it in Vancouver ............. you might get an Asian fusion version
