The weather is quite exquisite today. Lovely sunshine and warm temperature if it wasn't for the excess of last night's ice hockey party I might have been tempted to push the boat out later.

Used to see them quite a bit by the side of the road to Jasper from Edmonton. However, they only appeared early morning. Quite elusive ! :)

i drive from edmonton to jasper every week for a meeting and have done so since last july..ive only ever seen one bear...i nearly ran into as it jogged across the yellowhead just outside of Edson...but other than that not a jot.

Slight adjustment to my post. It's actually the Jasper to Banff highway that I saw most of them. Black bears of course.

On another occasion I was scuba-diving in the Queen Charlottes at night along a shore ledge and the boat lookout told me afterwards that a bear was watching my bubbles with interest. That is the nearest I ever got. :blink::ohmy:

Loads a bears here, seen a Cougar too (not an old bird but a big cat)
