I find FB very useful. It's fun for keeping in touch, a good source of humour and conversation. There are several special interest groups where you can discuss, in private, such things as medical conditions, hobbies, immigration even.

Those with constant cat, dog, food, selfie pics. Religious and political content. Self pity. Self righteous.

Have I left anything out?

I'm the same.

I only see feeds from about 10 percent of my friends.

I've unfriended people. It's no big deal. You're probably not that important in their lives either.

The Cat Pics are a warning sign. And selfies. Endless selfies.

I don't mind cat pics, minions, selfies, recipes, naff motivational sayings or any kind of cheerful stuff. It's better than every man and his dog trying to be the snark king of the internet, and it's certainly better than shit that's shared from places like the global patriots alliance, or britain first or whatever the neo-nazis are calling themselves at the time.

(I've only got a dozen or so FB friends and they are mostly rellies - i just hide the objectionable shit, which seems to be having the desired affect as I'm seeing a lot less of it now)

I've had to stop following several relatives due to endless (and somewhat pointless) posts they share.. to the point I posted this.

I don't want to 'diss' your feelings
But some of your shares just have me reeling
I don't need to see F* this or F* that
Or the latest hot MILF or cutest fat cat
I just want to read about your day and
What the kids are doing and what they say
It's you I'm interested in and how you are
So do me a favour and don't "share" so far..

:)

My wife has her facebook account in the name of her cat.

In general, I confine FB to actual friends and family and that keeps things reasonably clean. Those with too great a noise to signal ratio get unfollowed from my feed and that works. I haven't needed to unfriend anyone for ages but wouldn't think twice about doing so.

I confine it to get coupons and learn about specials for takeaway food for lunch, weirdly all the adds seem to think I'm in the market for an electric bike.

My FB is just my family and a few of my wifes friends. I used to have co workers and such but soon realized best to keep work seperate from personal.

Those few I have removed, I also block so they cant contact me at all.

I ise FB largely for news and a few reptile and fish groups. Not many use forums for those anymore.

Perhaps there's a correlation between electric bikers and fishermen? Or fast food delivery guys? ;)

I do not Facebook, but I do post and browse Reddit.

It's funny because half of the front page of Reddit eventually makes it on to Facebook (normally 2 days later) and then my Wife who does Facebook, takes great pleasure in showing me all the funny stuff in her news feed that I watched on Reddit two days ago...

I wrote the following for one of my FB "friends" - it's sung to the Abba tune. Unfortunately I can't unfriend her since she's family....

Friday night and she’s on Facebook
Saying look at me people, won’t you look
Feel bad for me all you girls and guys
Look at me while I moan and cry
Everyone please sympathise
Night is young. Attention makes me smile
With a bit of “poor thing you”, everything is fine
She’s in the mood for moaning
And when she gets the chance

She is the Drama Queen, not young or sweet, real irritating
Drama Queen, fishing for some sympathy
You can moan, you can whine, having the time of your life
See that girl, watch that scene, diggin' the Drama Queen

Reptiles and Giant Lizards of course, according to David icke, are now ruling us.
