F%#king Rogers!!!

Absolutely useless.
I foolishly bought a Rogers SIM for my UK mobile in October and have had nothing but trouble since.
The person who connected me made no attempt to disguise the fact that I'd caught her at the end of her shift and on the way out of the door. This meant I wasn't told certain things about the plan I signed up to, resulting in my complaining about charges I wasn't expecting and a $20 credit on my account.
When it didn't appear on the next bill I called and was told there was no record of it ever having been promised. But as a "goodwill" gesture they'd credit my next bill. When it didn't appear on that, I called and they said it would be on my next bill. I just went ahead and paid the whole bill and then bundled my wireless with phone, internet and cable expecting a $20 credit to appear on my bundled invoice.
Oh no.
I got my "bundle" invoice sans $20 credit.
Three calls later (after having been cut off twice) I get told that the credit was applied to my old wireless account which is now closed. The payment I made is in limbo and to get it back I - as in ME - have to go to my bank and get them to return it. What's the betting there's a charge on that...
The jobsworth on the other end of the phone told me that they can't simply switch the payment and the credit over onto my new account.
Tempted to cancel the whole package and just go with Bell.
(Not that they'll probably be any better).

Rogers is an outstandingly bad company to deal with and renowned for disreputable billing practices. Bell would be marginally better but they have this intensely irritating robot answering system which asks you to enter your phone number and then transfers you to someone who then asks your phone number. We're about to move and I'm in a real dilemma over whether or not I want a phone enough to deal with Bell again.

If you want to pursue it I can get the contact details of a relatively high up person in rogers (her mum works here), In the past she expressed an interest in actually resolving some issues...

So, am I the only person in Canada to not having had trouble with Rogers?
When we first moved here, we set up an appointment with technicians to install our phone and cable. Not only did they call and ask if it was okay that they came earlier than the appointment, but the phone guy also gave us a perfectly good, new phone out of his bag when he realised we didn't have one yet.

Sears offer GSM phones in Canada 250min for ~$25 a month I think.
Dont know if you could get a SIM that way, and I suspect its running on the Rogers network (as they are the only choice for GSM in canada.)

Dont know if you could just get a SIm without the phone too.
