Because the Liberal nominee in this neighbourhood is odds on to win and it is $185k a year government job where you do very little.

When someone is offered a potential windfall for a part-time job the notion of greed always kicks in.

The chap had dabbled quite heavily in good causes and local politics over the years so perhaps felt it his due. He had been rather silent since 2019 and now I know why.

Canada is so small. I know someone else who was sounded out to run by the Liberal party- I had to point out to him that he was a conservative.

Yes purely because much of what is manufactured in Canada is destined for the US... so it has to be in imperial.. I've kind of got used to it now, but would prefer metric, its just so much easier in my job.

Grains are sold in Canada by Imperial bushel which is different from the “bushel” they use in the US. The real culprits are Brits.

My new Chinese shit flinger has a capacity of 1 bushel. How could I tell if it's a US, Imperial, or Chinese bushel?

I don't think I've seen a recipe which had degrees C, even in parentheses. The meat thermometer, purchased here reasonably recently, is in degrees F only.

Thinking of recipes, a true Brexit benefit would be if the Gruaniad and the BBC included imperial measures in their recipes. Translating everything from metric is a pain in the arse especially knowing that the recipe was written in imperial and translated to metric in the first place.

Our current heat thermostat is in C but our last one was in F only, the car is in C but can be changed to F but it always goes back to C after its turned off and back on.

When I worked at the airport for the US airlines everything was in pounds, but the foreign airlines we handled were in KG, the fuel trucks meter was in KG but fuel slip in pounds since US airlines us pounds.

But the US airlines put in a handy chart to make the conversion easy and for the fuel person to show their work.

Some evidence suggesting success of the Chinese Communist Party’s attempt to influence Canadian elections.

In the US similar tactic by the Putin’s regime has lead to investigations and sanctions. Let’s see if the Canadian government has the backbone to investigate these claims.
