So the election was pointless it seems, CTV saying another Liberal minority.

Re: Election 2021
I went to sleep, and when I awoke, as if by magic Liberal minority it is, don't have to wait. O'Toole uses his concession speech to whip the crowd into one last frenzie, a last Trudeau Bad or 2 or 3, and crescendo, then acknowledge the wife and kids. A short bio of himself and commitment to continue leading the party, then all wave and exit the stage. The Bloc leader is down 1 seat and he doesn't look as surprised. I assume they're going to save Trudeau for last but I've already switched to Late Night. His speech will be as standard as the others.

The point of the linked article is that it was surprising that a PPC event should be attended by a woman "She formed a marked contrast to the older men in camouflage and the bearded young men in the crowd".One does wonder how conservatives reproduce.
edit: Arrr, belay that last bit. Except for 1 NDP riding and 3 still to report, the Cons swept Alberta so I obviously misunderstood what I heard. Arrrr. (Last half hour of Talk Like a Pirate Day) |
Re: Election 2021
Can't we all just get back to breakfast threads and stop calling needless elections?

Re: Election 2021
Ultimately Trudeau will have a credibility problem.
Spending 600 Million, to achieve absolutely nothing? And then there are issues with affordable childcare, elderly care homes, affordable housing, etc..... How much of this could one actually deliver with 600 Million. The election was taxpayer's money wasted. |
Re: Election 2021
Fuss over nothing, rather as expected. I suspect conservative parties everywhere will have trouble for years. Legacy of Trump, they're not batshit enough for the ivermectin injecting anti-abortionists but too bonkers for normal people. Oh Dear, What A Shame, Never Mind.

The problem is that another election could easily be held in 18 months time. It wouldn't surprise me about Trudeau.

Canada could easily go down a similar road as Australia. They seem to have new elections in Australia every 2 years or so? Or at least up until a couple of years or so it was that way.
