The over-used excuse of "it was gang related" doesn't stick to this incident. Multiple shots at 6PM on a Saturday in a busy mall, one dead and by standers injured. It's not good for Toronto's image outwith Canada. An image some may say, is outdated.

If I may, that's a pathetic excuse anyway "it was gangs", "it's only natives". The random bullets don't know what colour a person is or is wearing.
Canada is a gun owning democracy, everyone who would like to have a gun can have one. I accept that and, indeed, have some firearms. I also accept that giving everyone a gun is going to result in some of them shooting other people. There's an argument that, without the guns, they'd stab people. I don't think that quite holds, stabbing implies commitment or, at least, interest, shooting does not, but I think it unarguable that guns kill people. Occasional random shootings are the price we pay for the option to be armed to the teeth, that is something different from the UK where shootings are still a comparitive rarity.
If not a food court, perhaps a convention of Cadillac owners?

There can be no excuse for personal abuse here even if the poster thinks that killing people in a crowded place is ok if he feels a little sad, and has a sad story to back up his actions.
