There definitely does seem to be an element of it - some people seem to just have nothing better to do than try and get a rise out of others. It's what the ignore function was designed for 😊
That way you can just ignore the tossers that in real life probably wouldn't say boo to a goose but on the internet suddenly become invincible..

There are also people who take offence at the slightest thing, often on behalf of others yet those other are not offended themselves. Not found many of those here though.
