The title doesn't quite fit the context of this question but the inference does. Some posters just can't help but antagonise other contributors. It's like internet tourettes! But who makes the rules about what is acceptable and what isn't? Can one get away with comments and opinions that otherwise would be rude or inflammatory? I wonder if it's a medium for people who otherwise wouldn't be taken seriously to expound at great length on any subject they fancy, giving advice on any subject - whether they're right or not. Should there be any rules at all?

There definitely does seem to be an element of it - some people seem to just have nothing better to do than try and get a rise out of others. It's what the ignore function was designed for 😊
That way you can just ignore the tossers that in real life probably wouldn't say boo to a goose but on the internet suddenly become invincible..

Getting offended on Internet forums is bizarre. There are not many found on here, but there certainly are some.
