If people think fracking is bad, then there are far worse things going on in Canada which they should focus their attention on - any type of mining is far, far worse for the environment. Once a frac is completed all that's left is a small hole in the ground. As others have stated all the talk of gas seepage is pretty much pure BS - does anyone have any hard evidence of this in Canada? 100% of the 'evidence' I have seen is entirely anecdotal and almost certainly coincidental/made up.

TBH I think half the reason most people are against it is because it has a nasty sounding name.

So why did our well water turn bad after fracking?

Have you reported this? I fully support you suing the crap out of the company that did it, if they caused it.

Do you have test results of the water before and after fracking? If so, what possessed you to purchase the property, assuming the fracking did not occur during your time there?

Back to the OPs post

I think that you should focus on BC's fracking industry too; your hate for Albertans is clouding a huge issue there. Maybe your voice could make a difference there.

The fracking occured many years ago and we beleive the previous owners got a payout.

See above and as you know we bought a foreclosure, all water was off to the property so we had no idea and could not test it. We and out new neighbours have both bought water treatment systems to get rid of the sulphur and a reverse osmosis (bleurgh) system to make the water drinkable, we only use the water for cooking, for drinking we buy bottled as none of us likes the tast of reverse osmosis water. Friends that live a mile or so away as the crow flies have the same problem and have never done anything, even though the water was fine when the grandparents originally built the house many, many moons ago. Our neighbours have just sold thier house for over a million, we paid a third of that for ours, I guess thats why we bought our property in the woods.
