I don't think he listens to what Cherry is saying, just nods and puts a thumbs up during any pauses. He has much the same expression on his face that my husband gets when I point out a cat requiring adoption. I suspect he had no idea of the full content of the rant until it was subsequently pointed out to him.

That's my take too. I was watching live, I zone out when he goes off topic from hockey and I missed the vital 'you people, you come here....' bit. My wife didn't though. I had to rewind to be sure.....
