I don't get it.

Surely it's snuffled away so quickly, it barely has time to hit the tastebuds?

Who cares? This is chocolate folks. Chomp chomp

So glad somebody other than me thinks Hershey tastes like vomit! I'm also told that to cope with the extremes of temperatures in the US, they put some form of edible (I assume) was in it to stop it melting completely. Godiva sold out to Campbells and as such now stuff their Godiva chocolate with such lovelys as high fructose corn syrup and other such 'natural' ingredients - though I hasten to say that they haven't decreased their prices any.

Mmmmmmm, I completely agree - Ghirardelli's is the only US chocolate I've come across so far that's worth bothering with. Ghirardelli is owned by Lindt & Sprüngli, by the way. They make a big point of the fact that they import cocoa beans whole and raw, and shell and roast them in-house.

We went to the Ghirardelli factory in San Fransisco a few years back mmmmmmmm. Mind you the kids preferred Cadbury World in the UK because you get to drink the warm melted chocolate there even more mmmmmmm!!

Here in Canada in my favourite is Purdy's Chocolate, it has that same creamy, melt in the mouth texture that I loved about UK chocolate with none of that sweet, disgusting grittiness I hate about Hershey's (at least I know why Hershey's is so crap now though!) Purdy's Hedgehogs are just divine!!

I can put you in touch with some very good healthcare workers who have an interest in both psychiatric and nutritional disorders

Perhaps you ought to seek help from your co-workers then

Unfortunately they agree, we love it when we get Purdy's chocs given to us.

Mind you we had an English guy who gave us Thornton's - I didn't want the other's to get a look in on that one!! Everyone admitted they were in a class of their own. However, in the reality of Thornton's, Galaxy etc not being generally available Purdey's does just fine IMO.

To be honest, I think my 'chocolate taste buds' have been 'polluted' I can no longer stomach Thorntons or Galaxy (used to love both in the UK), about the only chocolate I REALLY like these days is (no stoning me please) Hershey's Heath bars.

I knew I should not have come in here. Souvette's bar of Lindt cherry-chili is calling to me. I'm struggling.

I quite like that stuff. I'd eat a bit if I had any.

Even though I hate Hershey's, their Heath bars are excellent - in the summer, try crushing one up in vanilla ice-cream.

There's a real chocolatier in Lakefield who makes very yummy choccies. The place also sells wine, what more can you want from a store?
