124 new cases since yesterday.

Hospitalizations are climbing a bit, 23 in hospital currently.

974 active cases, a record high.

Fraser Health the largest health authority in the province, 30% of recent cases are in the 20-29 age group which accounts for 14% of the population in Fraser Health.

One is an ear mould for a behind the ear one - but the other is a mould for a half shell, which has to be specially made to order... potentially with my 'bad' (profoundly deaf) ear having improved (compensation for my 'good ear' which is now my 'bad' ear perhaps) I could possibly have 2 half shells - but I can't afford them.

oh, Ive only ever had BTE aids with moulds - which is standard as you know. Can't you get a BTE for both ears? Maybe it's time to think about a cochlear implant? That's if you are able to have surgery of course.
Sometimes the Lions will offer help for medical devices especially hearing ones. Also if you have any military links the Legion might help

I could in theory (but they still need to be made, lol) - but with my sticky out ears behind the ears hearing aids have a tendency of falling out and off - and aren't the most conducive for using a phone.. hence why I have one half shell. :)
Unfortunately I'm not a candidate for a cochlear implant - my mastoids were destroyed by disease and I don't have enough 'resonance' for cochlea implants to work (nor the 'stick on' ones, which I've also investigated and been assessed for).
Hearing aids should indeed be on OHIP - you get $500 towards each one, but unless you can get an 'off the shelf' base model that doesn't cover more than 5% of the cost. My present ones were over $5,000 (after govt. payments and discounts) - and that was more than 12 years ago.. they have gone up since then.

Sadly with COVID limiting which places are open, my usual hearing aid facility isn't yet .. understandably - they do have to get somewhat up close and personal - :D .also with COVID 19 limiting my access to my GP to get the Govt OHIP forms signed, I can't even get the $500 each towards the aids, so I'll probably have to wait quite a while.

The audiologist can sign the forms. . Mine did this over a Zoom appointment, I'm getting a speech processor upgrade for one side, mega bucks of course. Btw you don't need resonance for a CI as the sound is all in your brain. The inner ear and beyond. .
try troupe tape to hold the HA on. ;)

Indeed they can, but mine requires me to get my GP to sign off - as did my previous audiologist/ hearing aid provider. I have to go in to have the moulds made anyway.. once they reopen for business - I hope it's soon as I would like to be able to converse on the phone again without having to put it on full volume and speaker :) .

I have no eardrums, no ossicles and no mastoids (only a large mastoid cavity on both sides - after radical mastoidectomies).- and little to no bone conduction abilities; the only thing left in my ears are the damaged cochlea's. I have been told by several specialists that I am not a candidate for CI's... not that I can have the surgery done anyway - they don't want me to undergo any surgery unless it's an emergency - hence why they aren't operating on my carotid or sub clavicle arteries. I even looked into these - but apparently I'm not a good candidate for them either (there's that limited to no bone conductivity - and these apparently are better if you are deaf in only one ear -- but I am deaf in both). . https://www.medel.com/en-ca/hearing-...duction-system

I'd also question how few people are getting tested in India daily, that numbers likely a fraction of total infections.

We are over 1,000 active cases in BC, highest ever. 1,107 to be exact.

4 deaths over the weekend.

294 new cases since Friday.

28 in hospital with 10 in ICU

Asking people to reduce social interactions.

104 new cases today, 14 in ICU with 33 in total in hospital, highest it's been since May 31.

1,127 cases active, another record high. 2,786 people in self isolation due to being in contact with a confirmed case.

Well Corrie is back to 6 eps per week from 14th September. :thumbsup:

I think US TV series are pretty much trying to keep to schedule.

Movies...I am not really bothered about given Netflix, Prime, Acorn etc etc etc.
