Homestars is good. Even gives you the prices people paid for the work.

I found reviews on Trusted Pros for my handyman (who is more than a handyman) and they were highly accurate.

I have also used Homestars with reasonable success

So did you have a bad experience?

Surely one checks out references, not relies on reviews online that are unverified? For a contractor I want to see what they have done and speak to former customers.

Where are you based and what do you need? Maybe folks on here can recommend through a DM

Not me personally, but I used to think that Homestars was legit. Not anymore!

I get emails from them, often encouraging me to write reviews.

Perhaps I should be looking for some 'incentives'
