Which Chips are better ?

Deluxe here does chips rather than fries. I've seen them cut the potatoes. Utter crap mind you, but they're just like (as bad as) my local chippy back in Bristol.

Fries - McDonalds
Onion rings - DQ
Poutine - NY Fries
But none can beat a Scottish chippie

Another vote for NY Fries, great poutines too.
For Peterborough you need to go to Reggies Grill, though the fries aren't quite as good as when they were on the chip wagon.

I used to frequent a burger van on my way to a meeting once a month in the UK who's name was Carl and his sign was written in a script font similar to a brand of lager - he was called 'carlsburgers'

I thought the newsprint has been banned for years? Chippy chips are usually served in sheets of clean paper these days. Definitely agree on the salt & vinegar and cold night however. Bliss!

Some places put a newspaper as a last wrap but not next to the food itself anymore. The worlds gone mad !
That could be a whole new thread - what you used to do in the day. I used to drink out of a hose pipe as a kid when playing in the garden with the sun cracking the flags it was that hot (or it felt it anyway)
I'm not starting the thread though - I'll only get abuse from MandyMoodChops and greenhill

Regardless, when she spots it there'll be a Chernobyl-like meltdown in deepest butt**** Alberta and we'll all suffer from the fallout.
Personally, I'm putting on my tin hat and heading off to hide in the basement. You all should heed my warning. We're doomed.

No, no, no, it's not at all sad...I don't like chips at all except for Costco's...they are lovely! I've tried to work out what they do with 'em...I think they dust them lightly with flour which is what gives them the crunchy texture. Geedee, we are two sad ones together!
