Re: Census 2016
we got ours yesterday. The long one.
The woman who delivered it was frazzled cos the neighbours aren't there. They live in abroad, she just kept saying "but they have to fill the form out". There's nowhere to deliver it to either as we don't have mailboxes

I had two Short versions. I think they need a FAQ for a vacant basement appt that's being used as part of the main house.

Re: Census 2016
From prior experience: if you don't complete by the "please complete by date", an enumerator will turn up or call, eventually, to politely help/encourage you to complete it.
So did I, yesterday. Took 3 minutes & it didn't ask anything the powers-that-be don't already know, or can cross-reference.
I suspect my answers to the language question(s) may result in a follow up...
Someone will eventually call/come round and ask about the 2nd, vacant, appt one. Or you could try your luck with the helpline* and tell 'em it's vacant.
(I can't remember what I/we did last time around in a similar situation; I *think* I/we ignored it until the enumerator turned up looking for the non-existent resident)
*I'm about to attempt this for a friend who is out of the country ATM & whose mail I collect. The helpline is not accessible from outside Canada, apparently...
Helps determine if the mortgage rules are sufficient in today's market if they know what people are paying across the country.
I got the short form, so all I can say is everything they asked, CRA already knows, as does a variety of other government agencies and ministries.

I did it for the basement appartment saying there were 0 people living there, then in the note box I said it was being used as part of the house, and they really need a page one tickbox to cover this.

Re: Census 2016
I did the short version.
Twice in fact as not unexpectedly their website crashed again.
All the information I supplied the Government of Ontario have for my drivers license other than a question about whether or not I farm and sell my produce.
There is too much government in Canada and they are over paid and over perked.

Done online, pain in arse long thing.
Strange some the questions linked some not?
Like how many languages do I know, erm 1 English. Then later "what language u speak at home" erm English, then what language u use at work, erm you get the jist now. Link the first question and it be half hour less

Re: Census 2016
We were not asked anything about health.
It asked:
Names
Birthdates
Address
Who lived in the house
Various questions about what languages we spoke (at home, first language etc.)
Asked how wife and I were related.
Phone and email info.
Then it said, I was finished and gave me a code to confirm I completed it.
I would have liked to answer some health questions, maybe it would help get more funding out here....
