I actually agree with you on this, i cant use this app in the house as i feel silly.

I do however use it in the car on a daily basis. for texting while driving, with a little help from siri and most of all for turning sheets of field notes into a word document that can be pasted into a report. Its the best time saving thingy i have on my cell and the best reason for me to own a iPhone 4 s.

Speaking to a computer does look twattish.

But not quite as twattish as people that speak to a phone with no phone visible:
