Hi everyone,
Haven't been on here for a while and hope everyone is well.
We're planning a trip to the UK for 2 weeks and would like to hire a car. We don't want to purchase insurance through the rental company. Could anyone recommend other companies for insurance?
Not sure it matters, but we own a car here in BC and obviously it's insured.
We have BC licenses. Do we need to get an international driving permit?

Check your credit card in Canada. Many provide collision/theft insurance re hiring a car in UK. You will have to purchase third party insurance though, usually, but not always included in the hire rental cost. Check with your bank. International permit to best of my knowledge not required for UK, just your BC drivers licence. Avoid rental company (almost extortion) insurance if you can...There are a few recent threads dealing with car rental in the UK that would be worthwhile searching for....
