Not sure I'd be buying a Toyota for the next few years......

My Guys a Ford guy, we almost bid on a Xterra at the weekend though - what is it with auctions these days where people pay more than you can buy them for on Kijiji????? Nutters!

Not sure German or Japanese have a better rep than US or Canadian built any more.

Check out Kijiji.ca for second hand trucks in your area.

Ford Escort station wagon. Ford hasn't had as much trouble as GM and other manufacturers with financial and recall problems in recent years, and a Ford Escort station wagon is almost identical to the Ford Escort estate model found in the UK.

The station wagon gives you options on either putting the dogs in the trunk and still carrying passengers, or putting the back seats down and carrying extra cargo as well. The pic is one I found on Google, and is of a 1997-1999 model. Looking at this, one could probably pick a used 1997 model one up for around $2000, and more for a newer one with less mileage on it (130,000km = roughly 80,000 miles).
