I suppose it would be impracticable to make people without a British passport take a test and get a license to speak English? It might help to keep up standards.

All a matter of personal preference really, like if you like Canada watered down or not, do you like the Queens English watered down.. or if you want fires with that. Myself I prefer Poutine. :p

Oh.. and if you think healthcare is all thats different between Canadians and Americans you don't know your history, you dont understand the country at all, and you will never be happy here so you may as well go back wherever you started. I know that I wouldn't go to the UK harbouring the same impression about Scots and say .. the Welsh, or that countrys in the Common union are "all the same" If I were really that daft I'd of stayed home. Maybe I'd finnish a "Colouring book" in order to increase my IQ.

You fool.... I hope the poor spelling and grammar in this rant is irony.

LOL as per what i said... I dont bother with spelling. I do notice THAT CERTAIN WORDS I DO MAKE A POINT OF SPELLING. Im not on a high horse at all in fact I think these forums need a real Canadian in them, especially one that doesnt give a damn what people think and has the guts to post his honest reaction to what he's reading.

What I read was people comparing the USA and Canada as having no significant difference other then healthcare. You will find that outside certain circles of comfort this is HIGHLY offensive to Canadians.

Besides theres always some ass who completely misses the point and having nothing interesting of his own to say attacks grammer and spelling. Theres no irony here, I make no quams about my spelling its awful. Yet what I said was what I ment. Plain and simple.

I've never heard of targetted radical political spelling before.

Using "As well" when meaning "Also", especially as a sentence opener. I hate that.

I feel like I'm in an episode of British Wife Swap where exaggerated, vociferous and ultimately ironic indignity seems to be the preferred substitute for reasoned and educated thought. It is fun though.
