Sooty is our 8 month old pet shitzu, he agreed to us filming while he went to see his doctor. On this occasion Sooty had his kennel cough jab and a blood test. We take Sooty to a local pet clinic and they are great with us. The price for the jabs, incl the Rabies jab average about $50 a visit.

Revolution is used to control numerous parasites in dogs.
Revolution for dogs:
• controls and prevents flea infestations by killing adult fleas and rendering flea eggs incapable of hatching
• prevents heartworm infection
• treats and controls ear mites
• treats and controls scabies, or sarcoptic mange
• controls Dermacentor variabilis ticks

What is Revolution?

Revolution is a product commonly used in both cats and dogs.

• Revolution is a medicine which is applied directly to the skin of the dog and is used once per month.
• Revolution contains selamectin, which is the active ingredient responsible for the parasite control demonstrated by Revolution.
• Revolution is taken into the blood stream from the skin once applied and is then redistributed back to the skin. In this way, Revolution exerts both internal and external effects on parasites, acting on heartworms while in the bloodstream and other external parasites from within the skin.

What are the Benefits of Using Revolution in Dogs?

One of the main benefits is the fact that Revolution is a multi-purpose parasiticide. One of only a few medicines in dogs which are able to control fleas and heartworms simultaneously, Revolution is a good choice for dog owners who do not wish to give two separate medications to their dog each month.
Many of the parasites controlled by Revolution can cause serious disease for an infected dog. Heartworms are parasites which infect the heart and cause damage to the heart muscle. Heartworm disease, once a dog is infected, is difficult and dangerous to treat, making prevention of heartworm disease a much more desirable course of action.
Fleas can cause skin lesions, such as "hot spots", skin infections, flea allergies and tapeworms. Ticks can cause numerous diseases for infested dogs, including Lyme disease, ehlichiosis and Rocky Mountain spotted fever. Prevention and control of flea and tick infestations is necessary to maintain a healthy dog.

RABIES
Rabies is a virus that invades the central nervous system and produces an acute, progressive encephalitis (inflammation of the brain) that ends in death. It is usually transmitted via the saliva of a rabid animal:
• Through a bite
• Through contamination of scratch wounds
• Via mucosal membranes.

Rabies occurs only in mammals, so it is not present in birds, reptiles, amphibians or fish.

Rabies has gained a strong foothold in Canadian wildlife, growing in prevalence over the past two decades. Foxes, skunks, and raccoons are amongst the most common carriers of the disease. The presence of these animals in urban and suburban environments means chance encounters with pets is a real possibility.

Tips for Pet Owners:
• Exposure to unvaccinated pets or wildlife — even bats that enter your house — can increase your pet’s risk of rabies infection.
• Following any such exposure, always check your pet thoroughly for fresh bites or scratches.
• Report any suspicious injuries to your veterinarian
Prevention is the best approach. By, using a vaccine, such as IMRAB®, your veterinarian can ensure your pet’s safety.

Brilliant as always. An excellent resource for new immigrants who have dogs and a rich vein of information that's sorely neglected by the haughty Hollywood elite.

We paid $120 plus tax for a medium size dog with 6 months supply.

4bells is correct, we later checked online and we could have bought the same for $80, DOHH, But we did not know about all this until our trip to the vet.

At least this gives the heads up to all who have, or are getting a pet. And we now know for next year.

There is also a Revolution treatment for cats.

Here is a short video of some of the Candy (sweets) on offer at a garage near my house, this is not a special candy store (i know i said CANDY STORE) but it does show that the stuff you get here is not that different to the sweets in the UK.

William Neilson Dairy Limited make cadburys chocolate in Ontario.
This is a Canadian dairy company owned by Saputo Incorporated. Their products are sold at Loblaws, Real Canadian Superstore, Giant Tiger and Fortinos. The company is based in Toronto, Ontario. In the USA, their products are sold under the name Neilson.

Still being stuck in the UK, it does offer an insight into everyday regular normal life in Canada, which is something that as yet I haven't had the chance to experience.

So big thank you, am anxiously waiting for the next one

Well, it's nice to be able to see the different types of candy that are available...

If it bores you that much, nobody makes you watch it.
