Default Canada: Why confused?

The story so far: Adrian (13 1/4), a typical Torontonian Troll, seeks justification for his appalling life by pissing on everyone else's Timbits.

Despite repeated admonishments to desist, several posters continue to poke nourishment into his cage, some out of naivity, others out of malice and some, such as the aged companion of a young yankee emigrant, out of habit arising from his unkempt intelligence and addiction to Filmores.

In the final episode of the first season, matters deteriorate to the point of imbecility resulting in termimal thread closure.

The new season begins with pretty much the same cast, but a new twist.

On your marks.... Set.....Go!

The only thing I learned from that thread was that I am glad I have never been slim, and so never had to put up with attention from arseholes who judge people by appearance and whose love for disappears when skinniness is lost.

Many distasteful and upsetting opinions were displayed. I was glad when the thread was closed and dont thank you for rehashing it

So, Adrian, how long do you think you will have to have this business before you realize that it's not everything in life and take some time off for alcohol and fornication in sunny climes?

I thought his comments about fat chicks were pretty normal and probably fairly typical of men who aren't fatties themselves.

It's perfectly possible to be slim, good-looking and intelligent. And for those of us who are blessed in this way, why shouldn't we seek out similar?

In my experience they arent typical comments. They are typical comments of shallow, facile men, the kind of partner no sensible woman would want.

Still, as you say theres no reason why you shouldnt seek out a particular type of woman, but theres no reason to be rude about those who arent your type, and no reason to dump someone you claim to care for because they no longer fit your wish list.

The thing that I can never understand is: if women feel it is obscene that men only want thin women (most men I know do not), why are they forever on diets or forever comparing themselves to skinny supermodels ?

This does, of course, assume that women diet for cosmetic reasons rather than medical ones

Insecurity. This is what popular society and unenlightened men says women should be, so the assumption is if you aren't thin then you will never get a man, a husband, children.

You can have other vices that dont make you fat, you can smoke and not be judged, you can drink, take drugs, but as long as you stay slim then you are acceptable.

Presumably they diet to achieve a moderate weight, something like Paris Hilton, rather than to be skinny, in the manner of the pre-pregnancy Nicole Ritchie.

I think most men would rather see taut, firm flesh on their partner while having sex than wobbly, pendulous flab. Maybe I'm just the victim of media stereotyping, but I don't find fatties arousing enough to divert the blood flow sufficiently.

I know some men do. A former housemate of mine would delight in sharing his stash of fat porn with us. I'm still scarred.

I dunno, I would think Victoria Beckham's breasts could do with being a bit more pendulous and a bit less taut and firm; that's truly a body that couldn't exist in nature.

I see this thread is heading in pretty much the same direction as the other one...

I'm almost ashamed to be male based on the stupidity that's posted on behalf of the male gender so far. Please let me disassociate myself from any further sexist nonsense that might be posted as "what men want"

Iain. Different people like different things. Why do you have such a problem with that?
