I agree with you. The requirement for non-state organizations to have to print things in both official languages is nonsense - let the consumer decide;) (I appreciate that the state is not having to spend anything here). I fail to see how a few piccies of Liz will cost loads of money and, again, you need to explain the justification for removing them and renaming everything by those previously in charge. |

I read somewhere ( from a comedian ) that it is the reason why Britain never tried to get to the moon as there was no spicy food or Olympic standard athletes there....no point in going there. ;) |

There's an public elementary school I visited recently that not only has a picture of the queen in the school office and gym but also the children sing God Save the Queen when they have an assembly. I couldn't give a toss either way, just thought it was interesting. My hunch, as someone else on here has alluded to, it's probably symbolic resistance to the increasing multi-cultural diversity of the community.

Well, according to today's Citizenship judge the queen is just an amazing person and she works very hard for all of us and part of being a Canadian is being loyal to her.
Coming from NZ I don't see the big deal. She's leering at us all over the place from pictures and we have the royal nz air force etc. Or we did. Maybe we scrapped the airforce. Anyway. |
