can you recommend a watch?
I'm looking to buy a new running watch and can't decide which one to get. Does anyone have one they really like? A few bells and whistles would be nice, but I don't need top of the line really.
Cheers!

Whats a running watch? What is the point of a watch if it doesnt run. Well, it will be correct twice a day I suppose.
I have a Breitling at the moment. Nice to look at but crap accuracy. Tag much better.
Also, what is the point in a watch been water proof to a depth greater than a human can dive??

Dont all expensive jewel movement mechanical watches keep worse time than a $5 digital watch from Walmart. Thats hardly the point of them is it
As for the rest? Who knows Heart monitor built in or something perhaps?

Mark Ellyatt (UK) currently holds the (unconfirmed) world record for the deepest dive using SCUBA. The dive of 313m beat the previous record set by the late John Bennet of 308m (confirmed).
The above records were set using 'recreational' SCUBA. Commercial dives to depths greather than 500m have been made using specialised commercial and military diving equipment and support systems.
So in order to go retrieve my watch I need a fair few grands worth of kit, many many years of experience and to set a world record at the same time.
Hmmmm, I think its lost.
I think you could well be right about the cheapo watches. However, as I mentioned, Tag would loose about 5 seconds a year.
I did put my Breitling in a pint of beer for an hour and it was fine. That is the longest pint I have ever had.

Eddie Bauer do some very nice watches - including ones for hikers and mountain climber types - so I should think soemthing like that may work for you?

I do think it would be a lot more helpful if they just said "This ones good for swiming at 10M" rather than all the technobabble
Anyway.
My (skinny) brother is a semi serious runner, and after trying a few other brands he has something like this now when hes training. Too ugly for everyday use though if you ask me.

If not I'd go for that plastic strap casio digital thing they've been knocking out since the eighties. Cheap as chips and will do all you're after I'd imagine.

They do say though that men who wear digital watches get on better with machines than people, and for analogue, vice-versa. In my experience it's more like men who wear analogue get on better with their bank managers.

I've never heard that and now thinking about men I know...
What do they say about women who don't even own a watch?
