Calgary SE ring road delayed

So apparently the ramps on and off the Deerfoot are still unfinished so it will be a couple more weeks before it is open. It was supposed to open on October 1st to traffic and be "finished" by November 1st.

I phoned the city yesterday and they said they only found out on Monday afternoon it was going to be delayed.

I get the feeling that, until the T'suu Tina vote in favour for the new proposal, no announcements will be made.

There was something in the Herald last week about the Tsuu Tina discussions all being top secret........Nothing seems to have been done since the vote 4 years ago.

I have it on good authority that a deal has been struck between all the interested parties. The T'suu Tina need to have a vote on whether they are prepared to accept what their leaders have agreed to. At the time of the last vote, there was lots of noise about the parties reaching a deal, only for the members of T'suu Tina to reject it. The impression I have is that the other parties do not what history to repeat itself. We should all know by the end of the month.

In the interests of wanton pedantry, I have it on good authority (namely the Right Honourable Mr. Google) that the nation you refer to, m'lud, is actually the Tsuu T'ina.

HTH. ;)

Have they renamed Sarcee Trail to Tsuu Tina yet? When did all that Indian tribe rebranding come about?

Many of the main thoroughfares in Calgary are named after First Nations

Now you mention it, so are many communities in the GTA. Toronto itself, Mississauga, Etobicoke. Oshawa. There may be others, but I fail to see the issue.

Swansea, Richmond Hill, Oakville, North York, Durham and Roncesvales seem to be some exceptions.
