Calgary Marathon Anyone?

Re: Calgary Marathon Anyone?
Good luck with the marathon. ..... unfortunately our group has pulled the plug on the entertainment due to the weather forecast (wimps!)
I was surprised really, as we annually sing outdoors in December at the Zoo-lites, unless it's below -14!

That's a shame! In the end, the weather wasn't too bad (mostly dry anyway!) and there was a little bit of entertainment along the way. What support there was was enthusiastic and appreciated.

Re: Calgary Marathon Anyone?
Thank you very much Steve!
I did complete it (the Half, not the full marathon) and significantly faster than I thought I would. So I'm pleased and will be having little glass of something red tonight to celebrate!
And here's to the better weather coming our way too.

Thank you guys for all your kind words (you're not a bad bunch really )
Alberta_Rose, the sleeping in until 9am does sound very good - my kids are not in school tomorrow so I'm planning something similar in the morning !

As a very, very, very proud Mr. DV, I would just like to say that this was MrsDV's first ever half-marathon, and she finished in the top 20 (out of many hundreds) for her age-group.

Mrs DV, Yay, way to go an excellent result for a first half!
Upward and onward now, what's the next challenge, after a suitable rest of course?
How do the legs feel today?

Next challenge? Maybe I will go for the hypothermic half in Feb I'm sure this won't be my last half anyway (maybe aim for one in the fall?)
The legs are a bit tired today but I've just managed an hour circuit training so not too bad!
Looking forward to a relatively relaxed week (including some nice hot yoga)

Well done Mrs DV1 Immensely impressed.
I am showing my age- bluged a disc end feb and then old lady fell and grabbed me and ripped some back muscles. 3 months in and am beginning to get back to normal and am hoping by Sept I will be better than before, in order to commence ski training!
Well done again.
PS went to bodyworld with son. it was good and recommend it

Hope you are back to normal for the ski season (that's the most important thing!)
I had heard good things about Body World, had thought we might get this weekend but time was not on our side - maybe next week!

Re: Calgary Marathon Anyone?
It was a cold day, but dry at least. I finished the full marathon in 3hrs 28min, not bad for my first attempt at that distance. I beat my personal target of 3hr 30min.
Felt fine Sunday, sore Monday, legs didn't work at all Tuesday, Wednesay less pain, Thursday better, ready to run again Friday.
