I must be getting old but i get nostalgic about the 'old' christmas specials - fools and horses, one foot in the grave, casualty, holby city, birds of a feather, black adder, vicar of dibley, etc.

My childhood tv christmases were a little more basic and consisted of The Queen followed by (if we'd been quiet during the Queen) Xmas top of the pops, then ham, pickles, left over trifle and board games …… aaaaahhhhh

glad I'm not the only one.

I am looking forward to Capaldi's Dr Who. Am a little tired of the lusting, no one used to lust after Dr Who. He should be scary, and bossy, and scary

OH enjoyed Call the Midwife. The Sherlock "teaser" was really well done, really looking forward to the coming series. Watched Whiskey Galore which was one of the better films on offer!

Really can't stand Mrs Browns Boys.

Enjoyed Call the Midwife, NMTB ..TOTP I hardly knew who was playing!

Loved Paul O'Gradys For The Love of Dogs Special.

Cried at Dr Who and waiting for Shetlock! Would like a new Luther too!

Quite!!! It was a motherly tear for Matt Smith if course, thought the end was a brilliantly acted by him. You sort of got the impression he was genuinely sad as an actor to be leaving coming through too.

I really like the "relationship" between the doctors and their companion. That sort of forbidden love type thing. Can't have that if he is too bossy or scary!!

Best doctor? Would have to be David Tennant but only for purely lustful reasons mentioned above!! So so so shallow

How much forbidden love can you have i think one of the reasons i wasn't so happy with the Matt Smith Doctor episodes was that it seemed to be more about Amy Pond than about the Doctor. i liked Christopher Eccleston. All too short a run.

Lust wouldn't be a consideration for me...well, not for The Doctor anyway.

But DT was certainly my favourite. Until then, my favourite was Patrick Troughton. I always thought fear came across well with him. I have high hopes for Peter Capaldi.

Matt Smith probably top 5 but it's always been hard to judge each one when the standards of other factors (writing, storylines, FX etc) come into play.

To me, it is just crass low brow humour with lots of foul language that we are supposed to accept as it is being delivered by oirish folks.

Well that was a surprise. I came across a link on another forum and thinking it was going to be a clip I watched.

I thought it was absolutely brilliant. My eyes were stinging after.

So should I investigate further or was this just a good episode? A fake funeral and taking the piss out of a couple of unfofrtunate Mormons.

We quire enjoy Mrs Browns boys, some are far better than others, not sure if we like it as the comedy shows played on cbc for example are so poor.
