Oh, that's an idea! Thorntons would be good for sharing round a group of people.

I'm surprised, at myself and at the suggestions so far, for all the moaning about local chocolate I've seen on here in the past it's actually pretty hard to think of a specific British confection worth bringing back.

Well for me it's just Cadbury's that is a disappointment here. I often go to the import shop in New Westminster to get proper UK Cadbury's, it's just so much creamier and nicer. My girlfriend thinks it might be the type of milk the use, since most UK milk isn't pastuerized. Who knows.

Terry's Chocolate Orange. My nan used to buy me these at Christmas. You only have to tap it and unwrap it.

Now that would be carrying coals to Newcastle. The stores here are awash with them at Christmas time.

Topic, Milky Way, Milky Bar, Caramac. Can you still get Milk Tray bars? And Plain Choice bars?

Sweets - Sherbet Fountains. Lemon bon-bons, Shernet Lemons (and the strawberry versions). Toffee crunch (pillow shaped things).

Mojos, Fruit Salads.

And Smarties in tubes not boxes
