Breakdown services?

I don`t mean mental breakdown!
Just wondering who here has breakdown coverage for their cars, do you recommend them and why? Also how much a year.
Just figured with Canadian roads being so long and often barren for miles it seems a good idea. Lol that is of course if cell phone reception is available there!
I checked out CAA as that is all I could find, $75 for their basic membership seems like a good deal.

I get it free with my td visa card, as does my partner.

I have CAA, been good for me to date. A couple of flat batteries, a major breakdown, and 3 lock-outs, thru the family in the last 5 years, all dealt with OK.
The membership is good for hotel discounts and if you use Husky/Mohawk for gas you get a discount off your membership when your card is swiped.

We already had coverage for our car.
When we bought an SUV we checked CAA but the membership is "person" specific - one driver covered for any vehicle. You can add other drivers but the cost mounts up
We went with Canadian Tire as their coverage is "vehicle" specific - the SUV is covered for whoever is driving

How much is the Canadian Tire coverage per year?
Thanks.

There are different levels of coverage - Silver is $59.95 and Gold is $99.95.
We opted for gold as the towing distance is further.
Hope this helps
