Im not going to rush out and buy her one, but if all her friends have them, or she sees one in the store and says thats what she wants for her birthday, or she is given one as a gift, what are you supposed to do? I think people are reading way too much into this, and compared to the media bombardment to be thin, its really a drop in the bucket. Thats before you even get into the whole casual porn society argument.

She can dress her dolls however she wants to, I dont see any harm, but ultimately for the next many years we will have the last say in what she wears.

For the first 3 years we never inflicted gender related stuff on her, she was happy to have short hair and was into "Bob the Builder", but as soon as she hit nursery school that went out of the windows and she decided she would rather have long hair and be a princess and be pretty in pink. You cant dictate these things, sometimes shit just happens. Currently she queens it over about a dozen barbie princesses (plus one brat) and leads them on elaborate imagined adventures, shes even teaching them all to sing...:unsure:. You just cant micro manage every aspect of their lives.

All you can do is make them aware of the healthy choices, try and set a good example yourself, try and make them media savvy and free thinking (how do you do that with a 5 year old anyway) and trust them and hope for the best.

The way I see it is would you leave your baby/kids with her to look after? Hell no!

Sorry, this is one of my pet peeves especially when she is parading her autistic son on tv at any possibilty.

Back to the question, Kai plays with a pushchair but it is broken now and loves buses, cars, trains etc etc.

And I will not be letting him play with guns after what happened to us a few months ago. That is one thing I will be strict on. I can't relax at all, any strange noise that sounds like a gunshot I will jump and wonder what it is.

Certainly, she is percieved to be a role model by certain sections of society, and no matter how hard working or clever she is (and she undoubtely is) she is famous for having huge tits and getting them out. Not really anything to aspire too. But then this is a country that thinks Wayne Rooney is a suitable role model for young boys.
